Aida Marrero

Aida Marrero has been a School Principal and District Administrator in Miami Dade County Public Schools for the past twenty-five years.  She obtained a Master of Science Degree in Elementary Education and Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education from Saint Thomas University.

Mrs. Marrero has worked in numerous schools and district offices as an administrator and as a teacher.  She was most recently the Principal of Blue Lakes K-8, where she founded the very first Autism Intensive Communication Academy serving students in grades K-12. Previously, Mrs. Marrero was a District Administrator in the Office of Leadership Development supervising and implementing all aspects of the Superintendents’ Urban Principal Initiative Program (SUPI) for Middle and High School Administrators. She also served as the Principal of North Beach Elementary, which was awarded the Governor’s Sterling Award. Formerly, Mrs. Marrero served as the Assistant Principal of North Beach Elementary and Fienberg Fisher Elementary.

Mrs. Marrero’s educational experiences has afforded her the opportunity to collaborate with a diverse group of people to meet the common goal of increasing student achievement and well-being. Her educational philosophy is based on her uncompromising belief that all students can learn, given a positive learning environment, strong and knowledgeable leadership, a committed and focused educational team, an encouraging community and a supportive family.

Mrs. Marrero was born and raised in Miami, Florida where she currently resides with her husband and three sons.

The mission of Everglades Preparatory Middle School is to provide students with a well-rounded middle-school education, through a challenging program, focused on mathematics and science using innovative, reform-based instructional methods in a stimulating and nurturing environment that fosters maximum student achievement.

The mission of Everglades Preparatory High School is to provide students with a well-rounded college preparatory and career exploration high school education, through a challenging academic program supported by technology, on-site learning experiences via local business and the opportunity to tie classroom learning with the real world of work.


Everglades preparatory Academy is a Cognia accredited educational institution. Accreditation through Congnia indicates that Everglades preparatory Academy has met rigorous, research- based standards of  educational excellence to ensure the education program offered at Everglades preparatory Academy meets the needs of learners through proficiency in Leadership Capacity, Learning Capacity, and Resource Capacity. Using these standards, Everglades preparatory Academy targets areas in each domain for continuous improvement in creating student success.
